Background
In the last PMLN Government in Punjab, Khadim-e Punjab Rural Roads Program launched in 2015. The total cost was PKR 84.91 Billion and it spans over V-Phases. Moreover, during these five phases, 886 roads having length of 8043 Km were completed in the province
Current Situation
The government has introduced several packages namely
- Roads Restoration Program (RRP) - Cost PKR 137.324 Billion and in these 482 roads (462 approved) will be restored
- Moreover, 04 roads have been completed Restoration is underway and at different stages of development for all other roads
- Roads Rehabilitation Program-II - Cost PKR 169.540 Billion and in this 75 major road will be rehabilitated.
- Work is underway on 69 roads
- 10 roads are near completion
- Rehabilitation is underway and at different stages of development for all other roads
- Major Road Construction - Cost PKR 27.16 Billion and in this 5 key road will be upgraded and work is underway
