Project Scope
This project is designed to provide funds to the Punjab Day Care Fund (PDCF) Society for the establishment of Day Care Centers (DCCs) on a co-financing basis in public sector organizations across Punjab.
Project Objectives
- The primary objective is to establish Day Care Centers in public sector organizations to promote women-friendly workplaces. These centers will be set up on a co-financing basis with support from the PDCF Society.
- The initiative aims to support working women across the province by enabling them to manage childcare within their workplace premises. Each DCC will be equipped with the necessary facilities to care for children during working hours.
- The project focuses on setting up DCCs on a permanent basis. The initial establishment cost (excluding the cost of space or building) and the first-year operational cost will be borne by the Women Development Department (WDD). After the first year, the DCCs will operate on a self-sustainable model under the supervision of their respective host organizations.
- It seeks to foster a peaceful and supportive working environment for the female workforce, ensuring that they can work with peace of mind while their children are caredfor nearby.
- To ensure the success of this signature initiative, a dedicated wing will be established within the Directorate of Women Development to oversee the setup and ongoing operation of Day Care Centers.
- The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) will develop an IT-based system to automate various aspects of DCC service provision, supporting the Women Development Department and Directorate of Women Development in implementing and managing the initiative.
