The Chief Minister’s Special Monitoring Unit (SMU) recently carried out a series of comprehensive monitoring visits to public hospitals across Punjab, reinforcing the government’s commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible, and efficient healthcare services for all citizens.
The assessment covered key healthcare facilities in major cities, including:
- Lahore — Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital, Punjab Dental Hospital
- Sargodha — TB Hospital, District Headquarters Hospital
- Multan — Nishtar Hospital
- Rawalpindi — Benazir Bhutto Hospital
- Faisalabad — Allied Hospital, District Headquarters Hospital
- Bahawalpur — Bahawal Victoria Hospital
- Gujranwala — District Headquarters Hospital

- Mianwali — District Headquarters Hospital
During these visits, SMU teams conducted a thorough evaluation of hospital operations and service delivery, with a focus on the availability and performance of medical staff, the readiness of critical care units, the supply of essential medicines, and the functionality of diagnostic and surgical equipment. Patient admission and discharge procedures, hygiene and sanitation standards, and the responsiveness of emergency departments were also closely reviewed.
The teams placed particular emphasis on staff punctuality, patient feedback systems, and compliance with the Government of Punjab’s healthcare protocols. Direct interactions with patients provided valuable insights into service quality, waiting times, and overall satisfaction levels.
These monitoring efforts reflect SMU’s unwavering dedication to advancing the Chief Minister’s vision of equitable, patient-centered healthcare across Punjab — ensuring that public hospitals consistently meet the needs and expectations of the communities they serve.
