Background
Provision of ambulance services across the motorways and connected roads for better emergency response and treatment to citizens facing road accidents.
Objective
To provide rapid medical assistance for highway accidents and emergencies, ensuring timely rescue operations.
Coverage
The service spans all 76 motorway interchanges and 1,588 kilometers of motorways within Punjab.
Current situation
- Procurement of 30 Ambulances and training of staff has been completed.
- The recruited staff is passed out after successful completion of training.
- The Ambulances have been deployed on Motorways interchanges. Wireless Equipment are delivered.
- Ambulances had been deployed on their respective Stations (30 Nos. at Motorways) and passing out of the staff after training is to be on 20th Feb, 2025 which may be the inauguration by the Chief Minister Punjab. Currently, Rescue 1122 is executing the liaison with all DHQs on the designated 30 sites of the motorways for quick emergency response time to save the lives in case of medical emergency.
